Amazon's Echo will no longer provide an option to process Alexa voice requests locally. This is not surprising and neither is the thought they Amazon ever truly honored those requests to begin with.

Our recommendations is to not use Big Tech powered smart devices and instead use the open source and privacy by default alternative Home Assistant.

Home Assistant
Open source home automation that puts local control and privacy first. Powered by a worldwide community of tinkerers and DIY enthusiasts. Perfect to run on a Raspberry Pi or a local server.
